In this work, Alexandra Bolzer depicts surreal worlds based on dolls in an idyllic setting. Her photographs allow the observer room to deal intensively with his experiences and expectations. In 2004 Alexandra Bolzer began to let artistic photography flow into her work. When she made her trips to Japan and China her camera was her constant companion. Later, she tried to experiment with analog photography techniques and thus created her own image worlds.

Shanghai Fineart
In 2007, Bolza went to Shanghai. After Tokyo, Osaka and Hong Kong, it was her fourth visit to Asia. This time she photographed not only digitally but also with a analogue Holga Toy-Camera. These emotional pictures were taken during the three-week journey.
